Jedi News Comic Review: Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin #3

Investigating a failed assassination attempt on Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader is led to a strange man with a tattoo of a headless snake—apparently the symbol of an ancient cult. Yet the further Vader pursues this previously unknown cult, the more answers seem to elude him.

Elsewhere in the galaxy, a Star Destroyer has been obliterated by a beam emanating from a nearby moon—after an encounter with a different man wearing a headless snake tattoo.

Meanwhile, an assassin observes Vader from the shadows, waiting for the moment to carry out his commission to end the Dark Lord…

We continue latest Darth Vader mini-series with Scripter Tim Siedell, Penciller Ivan Fernandez, Inker Denis Frietas, Colorist Michael Atiyeh, Letterer Michael Heisler and Cover Artist Ariel Olivetti at the helm.

Elsewhere in the galaxy, a Star Destroyer has been obliterated by a beam emanating from a nearby moon – after an encounter with a different man wearing a headless snake tattoo.

The front page design is very chunky and is definitely eye-catching if you were to be flicking through a rack of comics. We also get an in-site into some new technology like x-ray heat sensitive binoculars and ancient colossal laser beams, strong enough to break Star Destroyers in half.

There are also scenes of Vader using his force flipping skills and never before seen lightsaber tricks, and scenes of unique Imperial space craft, never seen in the films. Vader encounters loads of all new tyrannical beasts on his journey into the mystical moon which would get Expanded Universe fans raring and researching.

Overall this comic is packed full of force flipping skills, all new awesome tech and never before seen ships and creatures. A must have issue and collection for any fan who likes to venture into the EU and places between the films. This issue will be available to buy from Dark Horse Comics for only $3.50 (£1.95)
