As you may have noticed everyone’s favourite counterparts made a cameo in an early episode of Star Wars Rebels. The pair have now been released in wave one of the new Rebels Mission Series. First let’s start with C-3P0. The moulding isn’t very sharp although 3P0 was smoothed over in Rebels so in that aspect he is accurate to the series. The paint job on his face is absolutely shocking to be honest with smudges and rather confused looking eyes. However the gold base coat is very lovely and reflective just like he should be. He is quite small which actually makes a nice difference and doesn’t take up as much space on the display table.
As for R2-D2 he is a bit worse for wear. Again, the moulding isn’t as intricate as it should be but I’ll give that benefit of the doubt as he is a Rebels representation. The paint work is off set from the moulding and there’s even a scratch and dried paint splodge on his head. Movement is very limited; his head swivels and the two legs move back straight. Both the figures have holes in the feet for stands and both do stand with ease. Overall I’m not very impressed with this set. They feel very light and cheap. However they do look good in packaging and I would suggest you still buy these for the collection. It could just be an unlucky set but it shouldn’t be for the price you’re paying.
