The classic shoe makers Vans have teamed up with Star Wars designers to bring you a beautiful collection of Star Wars themed Vans. From Boba Fett camo to comic book classics, there’ll be a pair for you!
Various Star Wars themed shoes have been released throughout the years from the original Clarks to the recent Adidas. But these by far have been the coolest. They were originally brought out in June 2014 accompanied by an awesome retro Star Wars themed skater video and then were released to UK residents weeks later. 14 styles are available including; comic strip, poster theme, Stormtrooper, Yoda, Boba Fett and Darth Vader. Accessories have also been released alongside the collection like t-shirts, snapbacks, wallets, socks and bags.
I managed to pick up a pair of the Boba Fett camouflage pattern for £49.99 through street shoes retailer tReds. So let’s start off with the box. The outside of the box has original (and I mean original) artwork accompanied with the Vans logo and that phrase every fan likes to hear, “May the Force be with you” in a retro font. It then opens up to reveal the shoes wrapped in a beautiful Star Wars labelled packing paper.
The shoes themselves are made up of four main pieces; the front canvas, the side canvas, the back canvas and the sole. The front, side and back are stitched tight with no lose threads. This is then fully sealed to the rubber sole guaranteeing a long time ago sorry, I mean a long life. The lace holes have metal caps preventing wear of the fabric and the laces themselves are good length, stretchy but firm. The lace ends have a Lightsaber print on one and a Boba Fett like helmet effect on the other.
All the Greens which make up the pattern blend smoothly and don’t clash creating a subtle yet recognizable theme. The rubber sole creates one hell of a comfy pad for your feet constantly adjusting to the movement of your feet. Over all these are the coolest, comfiest most awesome pair of crepes I have ever seen from a galaxy far, far away. And what better name to be running with, none other than the original Vans.
