As always this year’s second MCM London Comic Con was packed full of awe- inspiring Cosplayers, bargain deals and brand new Star Wars products. Jedi News team members Mark, James, Brian and Zak were there covering all events throughout Saturday so make sure to tune into the next episode of RADIO 1138 and the Jedi News Facebook page for all the content.
Compared to the record breaking MCM earlier this year the queues where reasonably short and well flowing with much better organisation overall. This time there were two major halls crammed with all types of geekery. Big time brands like Game and CEX set up with mini shops selling the latest games while All The Cool Stuff and Star Zone ranged from old skool vintage to brand new releases like the hit brand Funko figures. Several stages hosted gamer talks, cosplay competitions and even singing. The world class Cosplayer Jessica Nigri had her own booth showing her incredible costumes but due to the crowd surrounding her pictures weren’t available.
As always the 501st came in mass with all types of costumes including Jawas, Tusken Raiders, Stormtroopers, Snow Troopers and an impressive, most impressive General Grievous! There were even some Clone Wars figures like Captain Rex, Ahsoka Tano and Clone Trooper. The model Chopper from the new Rebels series was on display showing some master craftsmanship. Overall attracting a large amount of the public which is always great to see.
DK publishers had a stand there showing off some of their newest publications such as Star Wars in 100 scenes and Lego Star Wars The Visual Dictionary. However their prize show case was the exclusive Lego Star Wars The Dark Side book deal. At first it seemed like a Jedi mind trick, but no, they were selling the new Lego Star Wars Dark Side book (with the exclusive Emperor figure) for a discount price of £8 with a free exclusive 1/180 comic con t-shirt and a cotton reusable Batman bag, all for just £8! The Star Wars x SMS Audio headphones came with the beautiful and superb quality headphones (not to mention the rather lovely astromech assistants) for an amazing discount rate of £120, worth a saving of £80! If you’re into your music then pick none other than these as they were just pure quality!
Overall the Con had an awesome atmosphere with pretty much everything a Geek could ask for!
