New Disney+ Details Revealed During Disney Investor Day 2019 Webcast

Earlier today Disney held their Investor Day 2019 webcast that featured details and information on their new direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming service. Content delivery platforms Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, and Hotstar each fall under Disney’s growing DTC umbrella. Company CEO Bob Iger took the stage to open the webcast with a general overview of how the presentation will proceed, followed by a portion of the presentation dedicated to each of the delivery platforms mentioned earlier.

Below are the details revealed during the presentation that pertain to Disney+. A screen shot of the Disney+ Global Roadmap as well as Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy on stage are also included. We’ll be sure to update this post with additional information as needed.

– The service will be available globally.
– It will be an ad-free subscription.
– All content will be available for download for offline consumption (for as long as a person is a subscriber).
– The Mandalorian live-action series will be comprised of 8 episodes (an earlier report pegged the series at 10 episodes) and will available at launch (click here to check out the official logo).
– The Clone Wars (#CloneWarsSaved) will be available within a year of the launch.
– The Original Trilogy, Prequel Trilogy, The Force Awakens, and Rogue One will all be available at launch.
– The Last Jedi, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Episode IX will be available within a year of the launch.
– Alan Tudyk will be reprising his role as droid K-2SO (confirming an earlier tease) in the upcoming Cassian Andor live-action spy series.
– Several more Star Wars live-action series are in production.
