
Reported on Rebelscum earlier this evening is the news that George Lucas is to retire from “blockbuster” filmmaking.
Picking up on an article in The New York Times, Dustin Roberts mentions a couple of quotes from the Maker:
“I’m retiring,” Lucas said. “I’m moving away from the business, from the company, from all this kind of stuff.”
And somewhat more telling, in response to a question about the future of Star Wars:
“Why would I make any more when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?”
