Contrary to what we initially assumed given the timing of this Instagram post by John Boyega’s agent Femi Oguns, Lucasfilm did not release a new trailer for The Rise of Skywalker during last night’s broadcast of ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Word around the interwebs is that the trailer is actually scheduled to drop during next week’s (October 21) MNF game between the New England Patriots and my New York Jets at MetLife Stadium (kickoff is at 8:15pm ET).
Will fans be treated a week from now to not only a new trailer for Episode IX but also the start of theater ticket pre-sales as well? We shall see. Toss in a Jets victory over the hated Pats on Monday night and you can bet I’ll be dancing on Cloud 9 till the wee hours of the morning.
