Number of Boys Named Kylo Increases to 189 in England and Wales 2020

The latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) data for children’s names in England and Wales has been released showcasing first names given in 2020, with Kylo increasing to 189 from 67 in the previous year, the highest yet.

Whilst Luke and Leia have always factored as names given to children born in England and Wales, Kylo and Rey are relatively new to the lists with the number of girls named Rey increasing to 21 in 2020. The name Finn also saw an increase in 2020, with 757 boys given the name, making it the 73rd most given boy’s name last year.

We are a little disappointed that girls (or boys) named Ahsoka have yet to make the list.
