Original Scroll-Up Creator Disappointed At Missing ‘Rogue One’ Crawl

One of the unique aspects of Rogue One is its lack of opening scroll, a move designed to differentiate it from the saga episodes. Dan Perri, who worked on that original 1977 opening crawl (which was different of course to the one shown above as it didn’t say A New Hope back in ’77) was less than impressed at this omission.

“Frankly, it is a huge mistake, because the image is so iconic and it’s so important to tens of millions, hundreds of millions of fans. I couldn’t imagine it starting without that. It’s foolish.”
