Actor Paul Bettany recently shared his excitement with GamesRadar about getting to be part of next year’s Star Wars standalone film Solo: A Star Wars Story. He stated in the piece how the film has a certain “gangster” vibe to it with his character fitting in with that description.
When Ron Howard assumed the directorial duties for Solo from initial co-directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the interwebs began theorizing how much of the film would be reshot under Howard’s guidance. Turns out, based on Bettany’s comments below, the film saw quite a bit of changes once Howard was brought on board who approached the project with a very clear vision.
“His staging ability is so f***ing brilliant,” says Bettany of Howard. “I think he went in and he was like a laser, working out what needed to be done when he looked at the footage. And then, as things moved on, everybody felt so secure with him. And they gave him more. He reshot a lot more than was originally intended.”
Solo will be arriving in theaters on May 25, 2018.
