An unused poster for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker highlights the connection between Rey and Kylo Ren via Force dyad.
Kylo Ren and Rey’s Force dyad is the focus of an unused Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker poster. The first anniversary of the final Skywalker Saga film is fast approaching, while there seem to be no official plans to celebrate it, fans can still look back at the film and dissect some of its murky elements, including the concept of Force dyad.
Introduced in The Rise of Skywalker, the concept was used to explain the strong connection between Kylo Ren and Rey which had become apparent in The Last Jedi. The Force Awakenshad some indication that the pair are intricately linked together, but it wasn’t until its 2017 sequel that it was fully explored. For a while, it was unknown why and how this was happening—until Emperor Palpatine clarified the matter. As it turns out, Ben Solo and Rey Palpatine make up a Force dyad. An extremely rare occurrence, a Force dyad happens when two Force-sensitive beings are strongly linked to each other allowing them to communicate in various ways despite being far apart.
A poster for The Rise of Skywalker was meant to highlight this idea, but it was scrapped. Shared on Instagram by artist Adam Brockbank, the one-sheet features Rey and Kylo Ren almost morphing together.
