Following up on today’s big announcement that saw J.J. Abrams named as the new director for Episode IX, Lucasfilm revealed via the official Star Wars Twitter account that the release date for the film has been moved back to December 20, 2019.
Episode IX was originally slated to be released on May 24, 2019.
