Today would have been the 80th birthday of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back producer Gary Kurtz, and we remember him fondly.

Today would have marked Gary Kurtz’s 80th birthday. He was such a wonderful man, a gentleman, father, husband, and skilled film maker in every way possible. He loved and understood how to tell a story though the art of film making like no other, and he lived for this passion. He will never be forgotten by the people who he worked alongside and who met him though the years. We all truly have lost a unique person and the world is worse off without him being around us. I wish you could all know him as well as I did, it’s a gift he left me that I cherish. We are all thinking of you old Jedi, creator of the force. Jason Joiner
