Report: Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, and Cailee Spaeny in Talks to Join Cast of Willow Disney+ Series

Deadline is reporting that actresses Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, and Cailee Spaeny are all currently in talks to join the cast of the new Willow series that is being developed for the Disney+ streaming service. While nothing is official at this point, it is worth reminding readers that Kellyman starred as Cloud-Rider gang leader Enfys Nest in director Ron Howard’s Star Wars standalone film Solo: A Star Wars Story, so Lucasfilm would be quite familiar with what Kellyman brings to the table as an actress if she is in fact cast in the new Willow series.

Ellie Bamber (Nocturnal Animals), Cailee Spaeny (The Craft: Legacy) and Erin Kellyman (Solo) are in negotiations for the three female leads in Willow, Disney+ and Lucasfilm’s upcoming TV series follow-up to the 1988 fantasy movie, with the film’s star Warwick Davis reprising his title role, I have learned. The new incarnation of Willow comes from Jonathan Kasdan, who wrote the pilot and serves as co-showrunner alongside Wendy Mericle; Jon M. Chu, who will direct the pilot episode; the original film’s director Ron Howard and writer Bob Dolman; as well as Lucasfilm, which produced the movie.

The Willow series will see returning star Warwick Davis back in the titular role with Ron Howard also returning, this time as consulting producer. John M. Chu is set to direct the pilot episode. Production on Willow is scheduled to begin sometime next year.
