If you’ve been past Elstree Studios in the last decade, the home to the Original Star Wars Trilogy, you’d have noticed a huge Tesco Superstore on what was originally the back lot. The back lot played host to countless feature films including Return of the Jedi (and the Ewok village) which celebrates it’s 30th Anniversary this year.
For the past 4 months we’ve heard rumblings that the studio wants to expand and today we got some more information to back up that claim. It looks like Tesco may be moving out and down the road to make way for an expanded Elstree Studios sometime in 2015. Whilst this is still a rumour we’ve heard this information from a number of credible sources and it would be amazing to see Elstree Studios returned to its former glory and perhaps the home of future Star Wars films in years to come. Remember, you heard it here first!
