Reviews: LEGO Star Wars Microfighters

LEGO Star Wars: Micofighters has landed in the App Store. LEGO is back at it again with Micofighters. In this game you will pilot different ships as you blast your way past enemies. Ships included classic’s such as X-wing, the Millennium Falcon, Clone Tank, TIE fighter and a Star Destroyer. You take control of your ship and battle on planets such as Geonosis, Yavin, Hoth and the forest moon of Endor .

Each level you starts off with three lives and the weakest weapons. The more items you destroy the more upgrades and secrets you will find. When you die, you lose a life and your current weapons upgrade. The longer you can last the more powerful upgrades you will receive, but that’s the real trick isn’t it…As with all other LEGO games, one goal of every mission is to collect as many LEGO studs as you can. Before each mission you can use the studs to purchase upgrades for that level. The upgrades can mean life or death, they include more health, shields, stud mutilpilers and even the ability to call upon allies to help you clear out enemies.

At the end of each planet, you will face off with a boss. This is where your weapon upgrades and lives matter the most! Boss battles will put your skills to the test. I found LEGO Star Wars Micofighters to be a fun space battle game. Battling for both the Republic and the Empire doubles the gameplay. While you can quickly lose a few hours in this game, I don’t see it having the long lasting appeal as Tiny Death Star. This game will only set you back 69p (UK) or 99c (US), cheaper then a glass of blue milk. Turn off your targeting computer and let the force guide you through the latest Star Wars game in the LEGO franchise.
