As someone born in Edgbaston and raised just 20 miles north I was thrilled when the lead actor of the film was revealed to be Felicity Jones (born in Bourneville, just 6 miles south of Birmingham city center) and directed by Gareth Edwards from Nuneaton, just 25 miles east.
