What does this cryptic symbol represent? What does the text translate to? I personally have absolutely no idea what the answers are to either of these questions, but director Ron Howard certainly does as he shared this image on his Twitter account just a short time ago of a symbol carved into some sort of stone material from the set of 2018’s young Han Solo film.

Can anybody translate for me? #McQuarrie #UntitledHanSoloMovie pic.twitter.com/mbKltvhFbW

UPDATE: Our great friend Paul Bateman has responded to Howard’s inquiry stating that the font used in this symbol/writing was initially designed by the iconic Ralph McQuarrie as a font to be used for Yavin.
I can tell you it's a font Ralph came up with for Yavin 😉

UPDATE #2: Paul goes one step further with this tweet showing a piece of McQuarrie concept artwork for Yavin IV that shows this exact symbol etched in a large structural pillar! Exceptionally well done Paul!
@RealRonHoward this is as near as I can get you Ron, Ralph winged it as far as I know, but it was a font he came up with for Yavin 4. pic.twitter.com/qmOulMr38B
