Appearing on Tonight with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday April 24th, Brie Larson shared this story concerning her co-star Samuel L Jackson while discussing her role as Captain Marvel in Avengers: Endgame….
Avengers: Endgame star Brie Larson has shared that she was left in tears after her Captain Marvel co-star Samuel L Jackson brought in a very special surprise for her on a very special day.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on his talk show on Wednesday (April 24), Brie admitted that Jackson visited her on set on Star Wars Day (May 4) and showed her his actual lightsaber – which made big Star Wars fan Brie “burst into tears”.
“He walked in and just dropped this bag in my lap,” Brie explained. “It was a beautiful kind of silk bag. I was like, ‘What is this?’ and I opened it and it was his lightsaber. And I just immediately burst into tears.”
Jackson played Jedi Master Mace Windu in the prequel trilogy of Star Wars films and was known for his distinctive purple lightsaber, although Brie added that she wasn’t sure if she should say that he took it home.
“It’s amazing. I don’t think he’s supposed to have it. I’m not even sure if I’m supposed to say that he has it,” she said. “But I feel like he’s got cinematic immunity in a way, he does whatever he wants.”
Describing the lightsaber, Brie said it was “super heavy”, and revealed that Jackson had also had it engraved too.
