The Prince Charles Cinema in London to set to screen all nine Skywalker Saga films along with Solo: A Star Wars Story and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in 4K, and in narrative order, as single tickets shows (no marathons) starting July 15th, 2024.
This Summer, the folks at Disney have opened a very limited window for us to bring STAR WARS back to the big screen! We were given the rare opportunity to show these infrequently screened space opera classics last Christmas, but this time we’re back with an even bigger slate of films! That’s right, we’re showing EACH and EVERY official Star Wars film!
From July to October, we’ll be screening the entire Skywalker Saga and the standalone Star Wars Anthology films in narrative order. Kicking off from 15th July, we’ll see the first film in George Lucas’ prequel trilogy, THE PHANTOM MENACE. We’ll then move on with weekly screenings, taking in the likes of ATTACK OF THE CLONES and REVENGE OF THE SITH, before moving on to screenings of SOLO : A STAR WARS STORY and ROGUE ONE : A STAR WARS STORY. Next, we see the return of the beloved original Star Wars trilogy, as A NEW HOPE, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI return to the programme, and we’ll finish the strand off with the sequel trilogy of THE FORCE AWAKENS, THE LAST JEDI and THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.
Each film will receive weekday evening and weekday matinée slots in our programme, with each presented in 4K. Of course, each of the original films will be showing from the latest Special Edition versions (You didn’t think Disney was going to sneak out the original Theatrical Versions at the Prince Charles, did you?).
These will all be single ticket performances, and there will be no marathons, but we have allocated space to do back-to-back screenings of the entire Skywalker Saga over the late-August Bank Holiday weekend of Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th August, so you can make your own mini-marathons if you wish.
Friday 23rd August – The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones
Saturday 24th August – Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi
Sunday 25th August – The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker
As always, the STAR WARS films have always been incredibly hard to come by. That’s why this is such a huge deal to us. For years, we’ve been saying to people who ask about why we don’t show Star Wars, “We would if we could”. Now, we can! For a very short amount of time…
Join us this Summer, as we venture into a galaxy far, far away with the entire STAR WARS film franchise. This is a very, very limited opportunity, so don’t let your chance to see these classics on the big screen at The Prince Charles Cinema slip you by! Tickets are now on sale to everyone…
