‘Solo’ Earns Over $14M In Thursday Previews, Sets New Record

Director Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story is off to a fast start with movie-goers as the film took in over $14 million during Thursday evening showings. These debut ticket numbers set a new record for a film opening over the Memorial Day weekend.

Disney and Lucasfilms’ Solo: A Star Wars Story earned $14.1 million in Thursday evening previews, a record for a Memorial Day weekend release, but well behind fellow standalone movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which took in $29 million in previews in mid-December of 2016 on its way to a $155 million domestic debut.

Solo is currently tracking for an estimated $130-$150 million opening weekend.
