Del Rey has posted a chronological timeline of their Star Wars novels and the placement of May’s Solo: A Star Wars Story is included in their chart. Based on their listing, the events of the standalone film are set between the James Luceno-penned Tarkin novel and the Thrawn novel by author Timothy Zahn.
We also see that the upcoming Han-centered novel Last Shot takes place right before the events of the theatrical Solo film.
