Spider-Man: Brand New Day has now passed the US domestic box office total of Avengers: Endgame, making over $858.3 million, and will surely topple the $936,660,090 record of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens over the next two weeks.
Spider-Man: Brand New day currently has a worldwide total of $2,223,400,177 sitting at #6 in the all-time charts behind Titanic ($2,264,812,968), Ne Zha 2 ($2,270,700,370), Avatar: The Way of Water ($2,334,484,620), Avengers: Endgame ($2,799,439,100) and Avatar ($2,923,710,708).
With Avengers: Endgame getting a release next month, it will be interesting to see how long Spider-Man: Brand New Day can keep the new record.
Over the weekend, the Tom Holland-led film that hails from Marvel Studios had surpassed 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home to briefly occupy the No. 3 spot on the all-time domestic box office chart. This also placed Brand New Day as Sony’s highest-grossing domestic film after it set the record over the previous weekend for the top global release in the studio’s history.
As of Sunday, Brand New Day claimed the No. 6 spot on the all-time worldwide box office rankings with $2.22 billion, moving past The Force Awakens with $2.07 billion. Any day now, the latest Spidey movie is expected to overtake Titanic, which currently holds No. 5 with $2.26 billion globally, while Chinese animated fantasy feature Ne Zha 2 looms nearby at No. 4 with $2.27 billion.
Zendaya, Sadie Sink and Jon Bernthal also star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton’s movie approaching its fifth weekend of release after launching in theaters July 31. Its record-breaking run has included surpassing Endgame for the biggest domestic opening weekend ever with $360 million. It went on to earn the highest-grossing first week in domestic box office history and become the second-fastest film (after Endgame) to reach $1 billion globally.
