During an Investor Presentation, IMAX have confirmed that Star Wars: A New Hope will be shown in IMAX cinemas in April 2027, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the original release, although we still don’t know which version of the film will be shown.
Disney and Lucasfilm are keeping tight lipped about which version of the original Star Wars film will be shown, either the most recent Special Edition or the original 1977 cut albeit as a 4K restoration, similar to what Disney did recently for 1982’s Tron. Which version would you prefer to see?
The presentation also confirmed that The Mandalorian and Grogu and Star Wars: Starfighter will also be shown in IMAX.
