Star Wars Artist Matt Busch shares the wild history of how the R7 Astromech Droid first came to be in the early 90’s.
Though it was mentioned first in the Dark Empire comic book series from Dark Horse Comics, Matt was the first to officially illustrate what the droid looks like for the Star Wars Adventure Journal, published in 1995 from West End Games. Since then, the R7 has made appearances in many different games and Hasbro has release a number of variant action figures.
