Star Wars Documentary Elstree 1976 To Get US Release

A documentary which took a look behind the top line stars of the saga and at the much-loved men in masks is making its way to the States.

Elstree 1976, a documentary about the people behind the masks of the original Star Wars, will get a US theatrical release, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
New York film distribution company FilmRise recently purchased the US rights and is looking to release the film in May, the traditional month Star Wars films debut.
Directed by John Spira and funded via Kickstarter, the film takes a look at the community of “small part” players and background performers who wore Stormtrooper armor, breathed life into aliens or found their parts cut entirely from the film. Actors like David Prowse and Jeremy Bulloch talk about their time on the film and the odd afterlife given to them via the convention circuit.
