We’ve been treated recently to several early looks at some of the bonus content that will be part of tomorrow’s Star Wars Rebels Season 3 Blu-ray release. The characters/topics that have been featured over the past week by various media outlets include the Obi-Wan/Maul confrontation, the introduction of Admiral Thrawn to the series, and some background info on the darksaber.
SYFY has the latest exclusive reveal – a BTS video segment from the Season 3 bonus content that directs our attention towards Mon Mothma who is voiced in the animated series by actress Genevieve O’Reilly, the same actress who portrays her on screen in Rogue One.
Mothma’s appearance on the series not only doubled her screen time within the Star Wars universe, but it gave us a look at a Mon Mothma we’d never seen before: the leader who doubts herself and, somehow, seems all the stronger for letting that side of her show through.
The clip takes a look at key moments between Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly, who also plays Mothma in Rogue One) and Hera Syndulla (Vanessa Marshall) in the episode “Secret Cargo.” Creators Dave Filoni and Carrie Beck both share their thoughts on Mothma and why they feel her appearance in Rebels is so important.
