The guide created by SWTOR Strategies goes over how to get your own HK-51 and what it does once the companion is yours. Getting hold of it is a challenge unto itself if you have not got a maxed out character, and requires some time to do the quest, making the final result even more rewarding. The article details the process of scanning for components, seven parts are required for the droid and you will scan for four of them. You will be traveling quite a great deal from planet to planet to gather the required components. You will be sight-seeing in Taris, Hoth, Coruscant and Dromund Kaas. There are specific areas to search and investigate in each region, so do check out the guide at SWTOR Strategies for more detailed information on where, and what, to look for.

The scanner you receive will alert you once you are within 2 meters of the part you’re looking for (these ARE the droids you’re looking for). In the guide, it states that you have a minute to actually get the component, so do make sure you’re quick and alert – if you do have a hard time locating it, the item will just respawn elsewhere. This is a dynamic quest, and thereby changes and keeps it lively and exciting. If the player is not within the two meter range, the scanner will extend its reach in increments, and will respond to one of those distances, however it is then up to you to continue a thorough search then within that specified area.

Once the player has gathered these four components, they will then require the final three. So where are they, you ask! Well, SWTOR Strategies’ guide has you covered; these final parts include the Loyalty Chip and the HK Weapons Protocol, and can be found on Tatooine within The Outlaw’s Den where you can find a Jawa Salvager by the name of Collector Kezzit. It is worth noting he is within a PvP zone.

The Loyalty Chip requires a bit more involvement to ascertain as you need to have completed the two required Flashpoints (Taral V & Maelstrom for Republic) on Hard Mode to have access to the one and only Revan. Once he has been released from imprisonment, the player can find a chest within. If completing The Foundry on the Empire side, once Revan has been defeated, you can collect the Chip from the console found at the back of the loot chest.

The final component is easier to find and can be located at The Emperor’s Space Station, after killing the emperor it can be found there.

Now you have all the components required, you can return to either SIS Agent Bren or General Avrun depending on who began your quest. Head to the Fatality to install the components and bring your new companion to life – however this will not be an easy task – guards will be sent after you and attack unrelentingly. You will come face to face with a heroic level 2 enemy, and once you have defeated him, you can take what you’ve earned; HK-51.
