Mark Hamill has been on the receiving end of several prestigious awards/recognitions lately. He was presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last month and then shortly after that was inducted as a Disney Legend during a special event at D23 Expo 2017.
What’s next for Hamill? How about a San Diego street-naming ceremony that will be taking place this Sunday July 30.
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — A San Diego street will soon bear the name of a famous former resident who grew to fame portraying Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” series.
Mark Hamill’s name will be added to a roadway in Clairemont this Sunday where the “Star Wars” actor lived for part of his youth. The actor is expected to be in attendance.
Under the city’s honorary street naming program, Hamill will be recognized with street signs in the 5900 block of Castleton Drive. However, Castleton Drive will remain the official name of the street.
The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Castelton Drive and Mount Abernathy Ave.
