Taika Waititi Confirms His Star Wars Film Is On Ice Indefinitely

While promoting his latest film “Klara and the Sun”, Taika Waititi has confirmed his Star Wars film, in development since 2020, is officially on ice, with at least four other movies in line for development by the filmmaker first.

“I hate to break this to you, but we’re going to actually put it on ice and we’re working on a different thing together,” Waititi told Inverse while discussing “Star Wars.” His publicist reportedly told him not to say more about it during the conversation. “Well, there’s your answer,” Waititi said. “I don’t even know how to dress it up or make it even vague.” “It’s very iced. I’ve got about four other movies I’m trying to do,” he continued. “Ice ages do come to an end… Who knows?”
