During a conversation with Michael Rosenbaum on his podcast Inside of You, Dafne Keen, Padawan Jecki Lon on The Acolyte Disney+ series and X-23 in Logan, has revealed how she was offered cocaine at wrap parties aged just 11.
The Logan actress, 21, discussed her relationship with alcohol and drugs during a conversation with Michael Rosenbaum on his podcast Inside of You — and said that she was offered cocaine as a child.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been drunk enough to even have a hangover. I’m such a control freak with that,” Keen said. “Because also I think as a child actor I witnessed so much of that as a child that I just had no interest.”
Rosenbaum asked, “You witnessed a lot of drinking and—“
“I was getting offered coke at wrap parties,” she responded. “Like, tiny. Like 11, 12, 13. So I saw what that was, so I was like, ‘I don’t really have any interest in that.’”
Rosenbaum was stunned by Keen’s revelation. “11 or 12? Man, I didn’t start that early,” he said.
“Well, me neither. I was saying no, fortunately,” Keen said.
The Deadpool & Wolverine actress said that her general avoidance of drugs and alcohol hasn’t affected her social life. “I would say I’m a fun time,” she said. “I don’t really need it. I’ll go out and stay out ‘til 6 but sober. Just for the vibes, just ‘cause I like music and I like dancing and I like people.”
However, she also revealed that she used to lie about doing drugs to avoid awkward situations. “I did used to lie as a teenager so I wouldn’t get peer pressured,” she said. “I’d be like, ‘Nah, I’m good. I don’t wanna drink. I already took something.’ Dead sober. Like, the goodest goody-two-shoes ever.”
Keen remembered telling friends, “Oh my God, no I’m already so high” despite only drinking soda and completely avoiding drugs.
