The new Stephen King adaptation of The Life Of Chuck with Mark Hamill, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and won the festival’s People’s Choice Award, will debut in cinemas this June.
Neon announced on social media that the film will hit theaters in June. The distributor did not give a specific date but teased the movie with the tagline, “The mystery of a lifetime.
The film was directed by Mike Flanagan, who’s also credited as co-writer with King.
The Mobile Film Office described the new release plan as “big news,” saying on Facebook that the project “employed a number of local crew members and utilized a variety of local businesses, and locations.”
“The Life of Chuck” stars Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, Karen Gillan, Nick Offerman, Jacob Tremblay, Mia Sara, Matthew Lillard, David Dastmalchian and Chiwetl Ejiofor. Comprised of several episodes told in reverse order, it’s based on a novella in which the death of a man named Charles Krantz (Hiddleston) appears to coincide with the end of the world.
