The Mandalorian and Grogu Tops UK and Ireland Box Office with Second-Lowest Star Wars Opening

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu has topped the UK and Ireland box office, despite cinemas taking a hit due to a heatwave over the Bank Holiday weekend, raking in £5.3 million and beating Solo: A Star Wars Story that debuted with £4.9 million.

Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian And Grogu opened on £5.3m from 691 locations, making for a £7,670 site average. It is the second-lowest opening for a Star Wars film under Disney, just ahead of 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story which debuted with £4.9m.

The latest entry is considerably down on The Rise Of Skywalker, which opened on £14.4m back in 2019. Including previews and the Bank Holiday Monday, The Mandalorian And Grogu is up to £6.4m.
