Timothée Chalamet & James Mangold’s New Project Could Bring Delay for Star Wars

Timothée Chalamet and James Mangold are set to team up again for High Side, a motocross heist movie based on an unpublished short story by Jaime Oliveira, which likely means that Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi, confirmed as still going ahead by Kathleen Kennedy at Star Wars Celebration Japan, will be pushed back even further.

High Side seems further along than Mangold’s Star Wars film and with no release date set for any Star Wars film except for The Mandalorian and Grogu arriving on May 22nd, 2026, and Star Wars: Starfighter landing on May 28th, 2027, it does seem we’ll be waiting a while yet for the film set 25,000 years before the Skywalker Saga.
