Villains In ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Are Old ‘Legends’ Characters

Screen Rant looks at how the some of the villains in Solo: A Star Wars Story, released in just 61 days time, are old Legends characters. In the same way Lucasfilm has brought Thrawn and other Legends characters back into the ‘new’ galaxy of Star Wars (as part of the Disney era) they continue to go back to the Legends material for more — something that Leland Chee alluded to earlier this year.

Recently, it was confirmed Enfys Nest, a character seen in the TV spot and full teaser, is the name of one of the villains, but details about him have been hard to come by. But thanks to some toy packaging, the curtain has been pulled back a little more – and we now know who Enfys is affiliated with.

The Cloud-Rider gang led by Enfys Nest terrorizes the skies atop the mean-looking swoop bikes. Little more than engines with seats, swoops are hard to control but capable of incredible speed.

The Cloud-Rider gang originally appeared in a handful of Marvel comics in the 1970s, where they were known for terrorizing the villagers of Onacra. The villagers reached out to Han and Chewbacca to help deal with the situation. They haven’t been mentioned in canon before. Previously, Ron Howard confirmed Legends’ Tag and Bink would also be in Solo.
