Last night director Rian Johnson and several members of the cast from The Last Jedi were guests on Jimmy Kimmmel Live to put an exclamation point on a week full of talk show appearances for the film. The subject matter was lighthearted and the cast had a bunch of laughs (Laura Dern’s love affair with Chewbacca). While we didn’t get to see any new clips/photos from Episode VIII, Johnson did leave us with a little nugget of new info about the film – the first word spoken.
Aside from the sneak peek and small tidbit about the opening crawl as well as the reveal of one of the words included in the crawl, Johnson has remained pretty tight-lipped about The Last Jedi ahead of its theatrical release. So when he is willing and able to divulge any new details, no matter how small, we tend to gobble them right up.
