Jade Raymond Talks Briefly About New Open-World ‘Star Wars’ Game

During E3 2018, Game Informer was able to spend some time speaking with Jade Raymond, general manager at Motive Studios. Raymond commented briefly on the status of the open-world Star Wars game that is currently in development at her studio, which operates under the larger Electronic Arts umbrella. She praised the strength and skill of the members of the creative team at Motive Studios and believes the open-world title will be developed by some of the most qualified designers around.

Raymond also had this to say when asked if any of the content/material that was created for the Amy Hennig-led Star Wars title being worked on by Visceral Games before the company was shut down:

“I don’t know how much we’re saying about that stuff, but the goal is … We have three terabytes of Star Wars artwork, which is crazy, and there is a lot of really good work there,” Raymond said. “When we announced we were moving the game, the idea was pivoting more into player agency but still keeping a lot of the stuff that was great about it. There was a lot of really cool stuff like tons of assets and really cool characters that had been created. So, there’s the goal of making sure we use all that.”
