Bit Reactor, the Maryland based company, behind this summer’s tactical combat game Star Wars Zero Company says that “more” of its team is returning to work after being furloughed ahead of the game’s release.
Bit Reactor CEO Greg Foertsch has shared the following statement following the news in August that detailed that most of the development team behind Star Wars Zero Company has been furloughed. He said….
“This week, we started the process of returning more of our team back to work at Bit Reactor, an important step forward in our continued support for Zero Company.”
“Having to ask team members to step away after we navigated unexpected business developments outside of our control and so close to launch was an incredibly difficult decision, but one that was necessary to help us eventually bring as many people back as possible.
“This team means a tremendous amount to me, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. Thank you to our fans for the incredible response to the game and for supporting us along this journey. We look forward to sharing more updates regarding Bit Reactor and Zero Company soon.”
Game File has shared, via a source close to the situation at Bit Reactor, that the returns bring the studio’s pay-rolled headcount to more than half of what it had been ahead of the furloughs. Whilst a considerable number of people have been brought back, a fair number still remain without pay. Read the full story at Game File here.
Star Wars Zero Company is available now on PC, PlayStation5, and Xbox Series X|S.
