Millie Bobby Brown On Princess Leia: “I Would Love A Role Like That”

It does seem strange, in the wake of the passing of Carrie Fisher, to even consider another actress in the role of Leia Organa. That said, we still have one more film featuring Carrie to savour – Episode VIII, which arrives December 15th this year – but it’s highly likely that any further Leia appearances would step back in the chronology and therefore require a recasting of the role.

Anyone who has enjoyed the magnificent Stranger Things will have paid close attention to English actress Millie Bobby Brown, who so memorably played the character of Eleven in the show, set to return in the summer for season two on Netflix. Speaking about the role of Princess Leia at Rhode Island Comic Con she had this to say.

“Princess Leia. If they made – I think they are making another Star Wars – I would love a role like that. Because I want to do something far from Eleven or Madison [her character in BBC drama Intruders].”

An interesting note, Millie is currently 12 years of age. Alden Ehrenreich is 27, a 15 year age gap. Carrie Fisher was 14 years younger than Harrison Ford, so if the new Han Solo was ever to meet a young Princess Leia in the form of Millie Bobby Brown they would share virtually the same age gap as Carrie and Harrison. And with Donald Glover being as many years older than Alden as Billy Dee Williams is than Ford, could the stars be aligning?
