We open the first doors of the LEGO Harry Potter (#76418) and LEGO Marvel (#76267) Advent Calendars. This year marks the fifth LEGO Harry Potter and third LEGO Marvel calendar.
The Harry Potter Advent Calendar box depicts a winters scene in Hogsmeade. On opening the box up, the display mat features more of the picturesque village with cottages and shops, with locations inside and outside.
Behind the first door we get our first minifigure of Harry Potter which features a new torso (the black gloves are new although the print has appeared before). The minifigure has midi-legs, two facial expressions and comes with a spare wand. Harry is wearing black gloves and his hood is up. Unfortunately, a hair piece is not included.
The Marvel Advent Calendar box shows scenes within the Avengers Tower, quite apt considering it’s just been released (set #76269), and features Spider-Man using a portal to jump from inside to outside.
The first day brings us an Iron Man Mark 85 minifigure with thrusters and the ‘new’ large helmet element. Opening that up reveals Tony Stark with two different facial expressions, one of which is the blue HUD. This minifigure has been available once before, in the Iron Man Armoury (#76216). It’s another good start to the countdown to Christmas.
