We take a look at the four new LEGO Harry Potter House Banner sets, each representing one of the four houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Gryffindor (#76409), Hufflepuff (#76412), Ravenclaw (#76411) and Slytherin (#76410).
The LEGO Harry Potter theme introduced the Hogwarts Moments series in 2021, depicting different classrooms from around Hogwarts, but this year they have been replaced by the House Banners which enable the builder to recreate their favourite school emblem that can be hung on a wall for display, measuring 19cm high. Each emblem is printed on an 6×8 rounded tile, although there is a sticker sheet with each set to recreate additional details such as portraits and paintings.
The House Banner can be taken down for play and opens up to the corresponding common room. The sets are similar to the Hogwarts Moments that came before, incorporating elements that fold into the build for storage or display. Each of the sets includes three minifigures relevant to the build and corresponding to the relevant House Banner, all of which are exclusive. They are: –
- Gryffindor – Harry Potter, Angelina Johnson and Neville Longbottom
- Slytherin – Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini
- Ravenclaw – Cho Chang, Luna Lovegood and Michael Corner
- Hufflepuff – Cedric Diggory, Susan Bones and Hannah Abbott
Various accessories are included and there is a place to store everything when folded. Armchairs, benches and tables are built simply but effectively. A lenticular panel slots behind the build between six tap elements on the back, enabling easy removal. The panel provides lots of hidden details which adds depths to the set and being lenticular, different things can be seen depending on the angle viewed.
These are well built sets, although we did find them a little flimsy when unfolding. Value wise they differ in piece count from 285 to 349 pieces, although the price remains the same at £29.99 each, as does the minifigure count. The lenticular panel is a nice addition, creating a three-dimensional effect which works well. We would have no hesitation in recommending you getting your favourite House Banner, but getting them all may feel a little repetitive build wise.
