As a primer for the new Rogue One trailer that will be landing this week on Thursday, Entertainment Weekly has been treating readers with an exclusive series of articles that shed a little bit of light on a few aspects of the standalone film.
Their first article that was posted yesterday saw director Gareth Edwards talking about the new planet Jedha, and today’s piece places the spotlight on the character Bodhi Rook portayed by actor Riz Ahmed. Tomorrow’s piece will feature info on Alan Tudyk’s security droid K-2SO, so stay tuned for that article once it goes live.
One of the inhabitants of this occupied territory is Bodhi Rook (played by The Night Of actor Riz Ahmed), who was conscripted to serve as a pilot for the Empire but defects to join the growing Rebellion.
His past is no secret anymore, but the question remains: Why does he still wear the Imperial sprocket insignia on his shoulder?
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy described Bodhi’s addition to the team this way: ‘He tends to be a little tense, a little volatile, but everybody in the group really relies on his technical skills.’
