Disappointing news for international Star Wars fans as word reaches us that the upcoming ‘Star Wars Adventures’ comic series for younger readers will be restricted to a US and Canadian release.
We have checked and confirmed this news with IDW, and they have confirmed that the comic series will be released in the following territories only:
- United States
- Canada
- U.S. PX’s
(Stores operated by the US Army & Air Force Exchange Service on US Army Posts) - U.S territories and possessions but excluding Puerto Rico, Guam & Commonwealth of Northern Mariana
The international licensing restriction for publication may open the door to regional license holders such as Panini, Egmont et al publishing the series in countries where they hold the license, and where they already print publications that may be able to wrap this content in. So if you want the content in your country, let your local Star Wars comic and magazine publisher know.
The series looks like it will be a lot of fun, and has already announced a host of great talents such as Cavan Scott and Landry Walker to the line.
In some good news, it does appear that the trade paperbacks will continue to be sold, with Amazon among many retailers continuing to carry them for the UK and Europe.
