It is an old era when the galaxy was ruled by one governmental body, the Senate. Jedi were in force keeping the peace in the galaxy. But far away the ancient Sith resurrect from their downfall. The Emperor and his Dark Council take back one world at a time as they try to rule the galaxy once again. Their apprentices, also known as hounds, do their masters dirty work travelling from one planet to the next.
For Teneb Kel, this is an opportunity. An opportunity to rise above the other hounds and claim his trust from the Dark council. His latest mission takes him to the planet of Lenico IV, not to hunt Jedi or slay Padawans but instead to search for one of his own, a traitor, and an apprentice…the Emperor’s apprentice! This will be one of his final tests to truly prove his worth to the Dark Council.
As he travels to the ash planet of Lenico IV with his counterpart Maggot, a fierce, hench Cyclops of a warrior, Teneb learns the truth behind the apprentices reason for treachery and at the same time his pitiful future which he becomes inclined to change. Follow the Sith hound named Teneb Kel as he fights gory battle and uncovers the truth behind many closed doors.
The Review
As this story of events unfold you will be following the emotional foot-steps of the Sith hound named Teneb Kel as he tries to secure a place with the Dark Council. His counterpart, Maggot, will also be accompanying him on his many journeys. The Emperor’s emotionally unstable and treacherous apprentice will be portrayed as the prey while her new allies, the Jedi, will make snip it appearances.
Loads of close up portrait shots of the characters have been used which really shows the powerful emotions coming out of the characters as they just receive the emotional information given to them. It’s almost as though a film has been paused at just the right moment which as we all know is a hard job and I praise the artist on that. The gore of war has also been shown within the comic which really works well in conjunction with emotions strewn within the pages.
Overall this is an original storyline brought to life with intense art work and detailed close ups. Treachery, violence, desperation and loyalty have all been thrown into this story to make one hell of a volume. The early Stormtrooper armour looks immense while the culture of the ancient Sith is reflected through their clothing. If you can’t get to the Old Republic through the game, then the paperbacks are a great alternative!
