There’s been a lot of talk, again, of a replacement/second version of Star Tours at the Disney parks and more specifically DisneyWorld. As we said a few days ago, and as reported by the Orlando Sentinel, the current building work is to create a permenant home for the Jedi Training Academy.
The ‘mighty’ Steve Sansweet confirmed to us at Celebration Europe that it would probably be quite a while before the Star Tours ride itself would be updated/replaced. So the latest batch of reports raised a few questions and who better to answer them than Steve himself! So we got in contact with him and he has indeed confirmed the following…
“They are indeed building a home for the Jedi Training Academy in Florida, after a very successful version opened in California several months ago. As of this moment, it’s status quo on anything else.”
So that should settle things – don’t believe anything until you hear it officially – there’s no Star Tours replacement coming anytime soon, thanks for clearing that up again Steve!
