Hollywood Auction 74: September 29th, 30th and October 1st 2015

    From 29th September to 1st October some of the most iconic and recognisable Star Wars artifacts will be up for auction in Hollywood Auction 74, giving you the chance to own a slave Leia costume…no, THE slave Leia costume, Darth Vader’s prototype helmet from The Empire Strikes Back, a rare and unopened Howard Chaykin poster and much more besides.

    This auction, Hollywood Auction 74, starts at 11:00 AM PDT on September 29, 30, and October 1 and will feature almost 1,900 noteworthy lots. The three day auction has items from a range of movies including Star Wars, Star Trek, Spider-Man, Back to the Future II, Mrs. Doubtfire, Ted, Indiana Jones, Wizard of Oz and more. The auctions have a collectible item for any audience.
    But the force is strong with this auction and we want to highlight the memorable Star Wars items in the auction. The auction not only offers outfits and on-screen props, but there are also vintage posters as well. Here a few lots for example:

    Lot 1558 (day 3): Carrie Fisher “Slave Leia” costume from Star Wars
    Estimated price: $80,000-$120,000
    One of the most memorable costumes from the Star Wars franchise. In addition to the outfit, one-of-a-kind original wax Masters are included. The outfit and masters were worn in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983). The collection comes with pencil drawings of the masters to fit Fisher and a letter of authenticity by Richard Miller, the original designer, sculptor, mold maker and painter of the costume.

    Lot 1906 (day 3): Howard Chaykin early advance Star Wars poster
    Estimated price: $600-$800
    The first poster ever issued for Star Wars in 1977, though it was never distributed to theatres. Poster was rolled, never folded. Poster comes from the collection of Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz.

    Lot 1544 (day 3): Screen used “Rebel Fleet Trooper” Helmet
    Estimated price: $150,000-$250,000
    Original screen used “Rebel Fleet Trooper” helmet from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (19770. One of the iconic, signature helmets worn by the Rebel Fleet Troopers in the first movie released of the Star Wars saga. “Exceedingly rare” helmet, as it’s the only original encountered.

    The Star Wars lots are on the third day of the auction, lots 1535-1563. Other items include one of the cameras used to film the first movies, Darth Vader Helmet, Stormtrooper helmet, “C-3PO” Oscar presented to Brian Johnson, section of the “Death Star” used in on-screen production, and more.
