It is a time before the battle of Yavin, the Rebel Alliance is still young and the Empire still growing. But for C-3PO, a simple protocol droid and R2-D2, a courageous astromech droid, it is still early days. They are off on their own little adventures in strange and mystical galaxies. This time, their latest adventure brings them to the world of Kalarba.
Their latest adventure gets them tied up with a couple of bandits planning to steal some crystals and dump them after the job. But an unexpected turn occurs when they reach the planet of IndoBok as the legendary locals known as the B’rknaa, made out of stone, arise from the sandy dunes of the course landscape and try to protect their precious crystals which the bandits are after.
As planned, Threepio is left behind after a close escape and Artoo left floating in space. Nik starts to get worried for the pair of droids and decides to visit the planet in search for them. Although unknown to Nik and his family, the bandits are gearing up for a second round with the B’rknaa, this time bringing more weapons and more people! How will it all go down?
The Review
In this issue of Star Wars Droids we will be following Artoo and Threepio to the mystical world of IndoBok. We will be seeing some action from Artoo, Threepio, the Pitareeze family and Captain Forno’s gang of bandits with a mystical appearance from the stone legends known as B’rknaa.
There is plenty more humour in this issue and a perfect balance of dialogue to go with it! The storyline is still very light hearted so don’t expect to see any more action or intensity then what you’ve already seen although there has been some great visual links to the movies like Threepio on a throne and a look alike for the Millenniums cockpit.
There’s a bit more blaster action in this issue with even more characters to add to the expanded universe! Some class onomatopoeia’s show up through the read which helps make the reader appreciate the action scenes a bit more but none the less this issue is still a great read with loads of funny bits and classic action!
