I wanted to do a never ending series over the places I would love to visit in the Star Wars Universe. I will start this series off with my top 5 planets to visit in no particular order. Much of my detailed information about the planets is coming from the Star Wars Essential Atlas by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. My love for these planets comes from all kinds of different places. Let’s all hop in our X Wing and take off (oh and don’t forget your R2 unit).
Felucia
- Terrain: Jungles
- Length of Day: 34 standard hours
- Length of Year: 231 local days
We have heard of Felucia throughout the galaxy but the first time we as Humans on Earth got to see it was in a very sad scene. In Revenge of the Sith my favorite expanded universe Jedi Aayla Secura was killed in Order 66. From that short scene I fell in love with the planet and decided that I wanted to know more about the planet.
One of the things that draws me into the planet are the colors and the flora. I have also become interested in the species of life that live on the planet as they are very strange and unique. I also became curious as to why the planet was involved in the Clone Wars conflict and I came to realize that it was due to the Commerce Guild. The guild set up its headquarters on the planet and this of course drove attention to the planet. I am not sure that the natives appreciated this. I know I wouldn’t have but then again what could they do to stop it.
Felucia is a planet that will draw you in but then could be potentially deadly to you. It is described by Wallace and Fry as hallucinogenic and from my readings I have come to find that perhaps it is deadly. It attracts you with colors, glittering and smells of sweet nectar. The planet is filled with force energy and a force user could be treacherous here.
It still remains one of my favorite planet and on this small adventure tour of 5 planets it would be my first stop…and maybe my last if I don’t keep my wits about me.
