Sony BMG Releases 30th Anniversary Collectors Edition Box Set

Sony BMG is delighted to announce the launch of the eagerly-anticipated Star Wars – 30th Anniversary Collectors’ Edition Box Set available from the 19th November (yesterday) from all good retailers including our friends at Woolworths.

This deluxe set contains all of the music composed by John Williams for the original three Star Wars films plus much more, luxuriously spread across 8CDs.

The music from each episode of the trilogy (Episode IV – ‘A New Hope’; Episode V – ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and Episode VI – ‘Return of the Jedi’) is presented on 2CDs in special gatefold packaging to replicate the original LP issues.  The box set also contains The Corellian Edition – the best known of the Star Wars themes on a single CD together with a CD ROM with artwork files of the original inserts.  Also included are notes on the soundtracks; information on the background to the writing and recording of the music; an exclusive 15” X 15” fold-out poster plus a set of stickers featuring original artwork.

Star Wars – The Corellian Edition is a CD of music composed and conducted by John Williams and featuring the London Symphony Orchestra.  Together for the first time on one CD is this stunning selection of the most popular music from the original soundtrack recordings for all six Star Wars episodes.  The Corellian Edition is likewise released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the first Star Wars film.  It is released both as a stand-alone CD and as part of the special edition box CD and features a fold-out poster designed exclusively for this CD.

The sound has been re-mastered from the original master tapes.  These CDs are a ‘must-have’ for film music fans and all Star Wars fans, young and old alike!
