With season four of The Clone Wars already in full-swing, you might be forgiven for not being all that bothered in looking back on season three, particularly given some of the, how should we say, less-than-stellar episodes that graced our screens during the first half. But it is easy to overlook those as exceptions to the rule, when we consider the fact that the season that was tagged as “Secrets Revealed”, brought us, amongst other things, the introduction of Savage Opress, revelations about the mysterious Nightsisters, the Mortis and Citadel Trilogies and how could we forget, the return of Darth Maul and everyone’s favourite Wookiee, Chewbacca!
Compared to the packaging of the previous two-seasons release on blu-ray, this third outing is a little disappointing, given that there is no sign of the sumptious box-art and extensive notes in the accompanying booklets. Instead, we’re left to settle for a four-page fold-out booklet with the episode guide for each disc and some admittedly skookum screen grabs from the season.
The Collector’s Edition contains all 22 episodes, 5 behind-the-scenes featurettes with director and crew interviews, and exclusive to the blu-ray is the Jedi Temple Archives (Chuck Paskovics and Paul Harrison must get a huge kick out of that every time a season is released!), an extensive database of early test animations, concept art & 3D turnarounds.
Star Wars™ The Clone Wars™ The Complete Season Three is available now.
